Overview

Khor Virap - an architectural monument, on the left side of the Araks River, built on the monastery-fortress of the XVII century, on one of the hills of the historic Artashat town. He was one of the prominent Armenian pilgrims, associated with Grigor the Illuminator. According to Agatangeghos, Trdat III, the Great, during the persecutions of Christians, Gregory the Illuminator was thrown into the enclosure of Artashat's Royal Prison, where the Illuminator spent about 15 years. The Illuminator, after getting out of the Khor Virap, received the king's support, made Christianity a state religion.
Echmiadzin cathedral - the main religious building of the Armenian Apostolic Church built in IV century. According to the tradition, the place of construction of the temple was revealed to Christ Gregory the Illuminator. Echmiadzin Cathedral is one of the oldest Christian churches in the world and the seat of the catholicos of the Apostolic Church. It is also called the Armenian Vatican. The visit to Echmiadzin is particularly interesting and interesting during the feast of holidays and liturgy.
Zvartnots cathedral is one of Armenian early medieval architecture  works, included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. It was an unusual, circular three-storey structure for the Armenian architecture, a unique collection of early Armenian architecture, sculpture and ornamental art.
